Titan RFID Documentation
RAIN RFID tracking software for warehouse and industrial operations, built for Impinj R700-series readers.
What Titan Does
Titan turns raw RFID tag reads into inventory, location, and movement history. It never writes tags - it attaches your own data to each EPC and tracks where tags are, when they moved, and what happened to them.
Key Features:
- Real-time tag tracking and location
- Flexible data model (no schema required - add columns as needed)
- Asset tracking and movement history
- Multi-reader coordination and zone mapping
Editions
Titan Cloud - Multi-tenant SaaS at hub.titanrfid.com. Readers connect directly over the internet; no on-site server required.
Titan On-Prem - Self-hosted (3 containers: titand, Postgres, Mosquitto) for air-gapped or private-network deployments.

Readers publish to MQTT; titand processes tag reads, serves the web UI, and sends commands back to readers.
Current State: What's Built vs Designed
Built and Working:
- Titan Cloud and On-Prem core platforms
- R700 CAP 0.1.6.0 (commands, rw_dir identity)
- Tested end to end on a lab reader with CAP; not yet deployed at a customer site
- Wonder-shipped reader provisioning (identity written at bench before shipping)
- Reader Start/Stop via hub UI
- Tag data, history, zones, users, API keys
Designed, Not Yet Implemented:
- BYO (bring-your-own) reader claim-and-pull (internal security design; not published on this site)
- Self-service reader claiming for customer-owned hardware
We document reality honestly. If something is designed but not built, we say so. Wonder-shipped provisioning is the current model; BYO claim-and-pull awaits Security approval.
